INPUT
Associate Psychologist Roles
ONLINE
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is developing a new workforce called Associate Psychologists.
Currently there are limitations on the number of people who can train as psychologists, due to the size of postgraduate psychology training programmes. The proposed new role will provide an alternate pathway for the large numbers of psychology graduates who want to work in the mental health and addictions workforce.
This new workforce will assist in increasing access to psychological services.
The New Zealand Psychologists Board (NZPB) is now beginning to develop the scope of practice and competencies for the Associate Psychologist role. The NZPB are gathering feedback from key stakeholders on the draft associate psychologist role description [attached].
If you would like to provide feedback, please complete this survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LGLVYB3
The survey closes on December 24th.
