Tēnā koutou

The Time for Change – Te Hurihanga review highlighted the need for more mental health and addiction peer support services in Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora Southern. I’m delighted to see a significant growth of peer support services since 2022 made possible through the Time for Change – Te Hurihanga programme.

Integral to the development of peer support services is providing support and mentoring to our growing consumer, peer support and lived experience workforce (CPSLE) across the Southern district and the workforce development hub will make this happen.

Through the partnership between Health NZ |Te Whatu Ora Southern and the workforce development hub provider, Carron Cossens, our CPSLE workforce will be connected, be able to share information and have regular development opportunities.

Having these services available is great news for our CPSLE workforce and  tāngata whaiora in Southern.

Ngā mihi,
